Kheer is a dessert, where rice is cooked with milk and sugar. It has rich creamy texture and flavored with cardamom and nuts. At my place it is must in any special occasion.
RECIPE:

Preparation Time: 10-15 mins

Ingredient:
Rice: 1/4 cup(small grain)
Milk: 1kg
Sugar: 1/4 cup (as per your test)
Cardamom pwd: less then 1/4 tsp
Almond: 1/4tsp( finely chopped)
Pistachio: 1/4 tsp(finely chopped)
Raisin: 1/4tsp
Pinch of Saffron thread soaked in warm milk(optional)

Method:
- Wash the rice and keep aside
- Take the milk in heavy bottom vessel and bring it to boil, then add washed rice and cardamom pwd, simmer the flame and cook until rice is soft.
- Add the sugar, saffron, almond, pistachio, raisin and mix well. Cook for 2-3 mins and then turn of the heat.
Note:
Stir occasionally to ensure the rice does not stick or burn in the bottom of pan.
