Tehri is the simplest rice preparation. It can be prepared in no time. It is healthy as it is prepared with lots of veggies.
RECIPE:
Cooking Time: 20-25mins
Preparation Time: 10-15 mins
Serve: 2
Ingredients:
Long grain basmati rice: 1 cup
Green peas: 3/4 cup
Onion: 1 small(finely chopped)
Vegetables: 1 and 1/2 cup(potato, beans, carrot, peas, etc)
Ginger garlic paste: 1/4 tsp(optional)
Cumin seed: 1/3 tsp
Ghee
Salt to taste

Note.
Can also cook rice in rice cooker.

Method:
- Wash the rice and keep aside.
- Heat ghee in pan and add cumin seed, when it splutter then add ginger garlic paste and fry for min.
- Now add chopped onion and cook for another 3-4 mins.
- Add vegetable and cook till they turn crisp, then add rice and fry for 1-2 mins.
- Then add 2 cups of water, salt and cook on medium heat.
- Cover the pan and cook on low heat till rice is done.
- Serve with raita.
Can also cook rice in rice cooker.
Ginger garlic paste is optional.
