Veg Momos





This is the first time I have made momos. Since long I was thinking to prepare it at home. Avi liked it and told that the taste is almost similar to what we get outside. When I had one I couldn't resist to have another as it was so delicious.

RECIPE:

Cooking Time: 15-20 mins
Preparation Time: 10 mins


For Outer Layer:
  • All purpose flour/ maida: 1 cup
  • salt: 1/2 tsp
  • Oil: 2 tsp

For Stuffing:
  • Cabbage: 1 cup (finely chopped)
  • Carrot: 1/4 cup (finely chopped)
  • Beans: 1/4 cup  (finely chopped)
  • Garlic: 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Spring onion: 5-6 sprigs (finely chopped)
  • Pepper pwd: 1/2 tsp
  • Soya sauce: 1 tsp
  • Salt: 1/2 tsp
  • Oil:1 tbsp


Method:



  • Combine flour, salt and oil  in a bowl and mix well. Add  little water at a time to make a smooth and soft dough. Keep aside covered.
  • Heat oil in pan/wok  and add garlic and white part of the spring onion.Saute for a min on high heat. Add the chopped carrot, beans and cabbage, mix well. Cook on high heat for 3-4 min. 
  • Add salt, pepper pwd, soy sauce and mix well. While removing from heat add green part of the spring onion and mix well. Switch off and keep aside.


  • Divide the roll into equal size ball. Roll out the dough into a thin circle. 
  • Place spoon full of stuffing in the center.
  • Fold it to make momo shapes.
  • Steam momos in a steamer for 5-8 minutes.


Note:

  • I have used Rice cooker steamer for this preparation
