Chana Pulao is a one pot meal which is tasty as well as healthy. Last week I was running out of veggies and tried this dish and everybody liked it. Very few ingredients are required for this dish.

Ingredients:
- Rice: 1 cup
- Kabuli chana: 1/2 cup( soaked overnight)
- Black cardamom: 1
- Green Cardamom: 2
- Bay leaf: 1
- Cinnamon stick: 1 inch
- Cumin seeds/jeera: 1/2 tsp
- Onion: 1 large ( chopped in slices)
- Tomato: 1 medium(finely chopped)
- Ginger garlic paste: 1 tsp
- Green chilli: 2( slit)
- Chilli pwd: 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric pwd: 1/4 tsp
- Garam Masala: 1tsp
- Cumin pwd: 1 tsp
- Ghee as needed
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Boil the chana in pressure cooker for 3-4 whistle or till chana is soft. Stain the chana. Keep aside.
- Heat the oil and add the cumin seeds, then add add the ginger garlic paste and saute for min.
- Add the green chilli and onion and saute till onion is transparent.
- Add the tomato and cook till tomatoes turn soft.
- Add the boiled chana, chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, cumin seed powder and salt and cook for 1-2 mins
- Add the rice and fry for a min.
- Add 2 cups of water and mix well cook on medium flame with with pan/kadai covered.
- Serve hot with raita.
Note:
- Don't overcook the chana.
- Do not throw the water in which you have boiled the chana, can use it while preparing rice/pulao.
